About Sully Restoration

Thank you for visiting our website.
We are Samuel and Lydia Sully.

Samuel, master craftsman, has been restoring antique furniture since 1986.

From 1986 to 2017, we had our workshop in France, close to Paris.
After that, in 2017, we decided to take a new departure and came to Los Angeles, place we traveled many times before.

Over the years, Sully Restoration has completed projects for private customers, collectors, antique dealers, interior designers, UCLA, and revered museums such as the Chateau de Versailles, Legion Of Honor Museum, Historical Monuments, and more.

It is our honor to bring our “Savoir Faire” Francais to you.

While European woodworking and furniture repair and restoration is our specialty, we restore furniture from all over the world: American, Asian, and European furniture (French, English, Italian…).

Samuel

Samuel is a master craftsman and master woodcarver.

His natural talent for woodworking was discovered while working with his grandfather Raymond.
Also, his father Roger was a teacher in a Technical French high school.

While he began his professional career over 35 years ago, he’s been woodworking much longer!

Deciding to make his passion his career, Samuel furthered his education, and learned antique restoration while studying at the prestigious French schools Ecole Boulle, l’Ecole des Beaux Arts, and Les Compagnons du Devoir.

At the beginning, he started his career working for others.
This taught him the ropes of working with clients, but Samuel quickly realized he wanted to venture out on his own.

Therefore, he opened his first business in France in 1986, which he had until 2017.

New to the LA area, Samuel’s skills are highly sought after.

Lydia

Before arriving in the US, Lydia worked as a project manager in computer science.

However, Lydia has more than one string in her bow!

After arriving in the United States, Lydia decided to join her husband in the workshop.

Like Samuel, Lydia grew up around craftsmanship and the workshop has always been a second home.
Her father Georges was a well-known craftsman in the south of France.

When Samuel decided to offer his antique furniture restoration services in California—they decided to make it a family affair.

We invite you to give us a call to schedule an appointment to discuss your restoration project.
